چکیده

Let (x(t), y(t))⊤ be a solution of a Fuchsian system of order two with three singular points. The vector space of functions of the form P (t)x(t) +Q(t)y(t), where P,Q are real polynomials, has a natural filtration of vector spaces, according to the asymptotic behaviour of the functions at infinity. We describe a two-parameter class of Fuchsian systems, for which the corresponding vector spaces obey the Chebyshev property (the maximal number of isolated zeroes of each function is less than the dimension of the vector space). Up to now, only a few particular systems were known to possess such a nonoscillation property. It is remarkable that most of these systems are of the type studied in the present paper. We apply our results in estimating the number of limit cycles that appear after small polynomial perturbations of several quadratic or cubic Hamiltonian systems in the plane. 2000 MSC scheme numbers: 34C07, 34C08, 34C05

A Bäcklund transformation between two hyperbolic Monge-Am-p` ere systems may be described as a certain type of exterior differential system on a 6-dimensional manifold B. The transformation is homogeneous if the group of symmetries of the system acts transitively on B. We give a complete classification of homogeneous Bäcklund transformations between hyperbolic Monge-Ampère systems.

N ov 2 00 6 A hierarchy of integrable PDEs in 2 + 1 dimensions associated with 2 - dimensional vector fields

We introduce a hierarchy of integrable partial differential equations in 2 + 1 dimensions arising from the commutation of 2 dimensional vector fields, and we construct the formal solution of the associated Cauchy problems using the Inverse Scattering Transform for one-parameter families of vector fields recently introduced in [1, 2]. Due to the ring property of the space of eigenfunctions, the ...

In this paper, we introduce the notion of “(n, d)-perfect rings” which is in some way a generalization of the notion of “S-rings”. After we give some basic results of this rings and we survey the relationship between “A(n) property” and “(n, d)-perfect property”. Finally, we investigate the “(n, d)-perfect property” in pullback rings.

Let n be a nonzero integer and a1 < a2 < · · · < am positive integers such that aiaj + n is a perfect square for all 1 ≤ i < j ≤ m. It is known that m ≤ 5 for n = 1. In this paper we prove that m ≤ 31 for |n| ≤ 400 and m < 15.476 log |n| for |n| > 400.

A 'state property system' is the mathematical structure which models an arbitrary physical system by means of its set of states, its set of properties, and a relation of 'actuality of a certain property for a certain state'. We work out a new axiomatization for standard quantum mechanics, starting with the basic notion of state property system, and making use of a generalization of the standard...
